Sign-up
Signing up stores your email address, your answer to the agency question, and your time zone, which your browser reports so that issues arrive at the same hour on your own clock. If your browser reports no time zone, the form asks for your state or province instead. The address of your internet connection and the name of your browser are kept from the moment you signed up, as the record that you asked, along with the dates you signed up and confirmed. Nothing is sent to an address until the person confirms from the email they are sent.
Click tracking
When you press a link in an emailed issue, the press is recorded against your copy, so the writer can see which items readers use. Links pass through this site’s own address to do that, then go where they say. Opening an email is not recorded. The unsubscribe link is never measured. Links on this site go directly to their sources.
Site analytics
This site uses Microsoft Clarity to see how its pages are used. Clarity records visits, including clicks and scrolling, and sets cookies to tell one visit from another. What is typed into the sign-up form is hidden in those recordings. Neither the recordings nor the counts are joined to the reader list.
Email delivery
Issues are delivered through an email delivery service, which is given each reader’s address in order to deliver the email, and which reports back when an address bounces or marks an issue as spam. The reader list is not sold, rented, or lent.
Unsubscribe
Every issue of Stocha D carries an unsubscribe link, and most mail programs also show their own unsubscribe button beside the sender’s name. Either one ends the subscription at once. To ask what is kept about you, or to have it removed, reply to any issue or to the confirmation email.
